Kara: “Trump, make it impossible for Biden to change peace process and Iran policy”

According to the Jerusalem Post, “US President Donald Trump’s Deal of the Century will now almost certainly be shelved by President-elect Joe Biden when he takes office at the end of January and will have no hope of being carried out.”   It is also quite certain that a Biden administration will seek to return to the Iranian nuclear deal.

In light of this fact, former Israeli Communication Minister Ayoob Kara has called upon the Trump administration during its last days in office to sign a treaty between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, stressing that the US remains committed legally to the Deal of the Century and its Persian Gulf focus, alongside will not return to the Iranian nuclear deal and won’t offer Iran sanctions relief unless there is a regime change in Tehran.

Kara, upon returning from the Persian Gulf, emphasizes that Bahrain, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and the Saudi coalition are all on the same page regarding this: “They say loudly that they are going to invite Biden to the Emirates and Bahrain in order to emphasize that they want the same peace process to continue.  They do not want for things to head in another direction.”  He noted that the Saudi Coalition all wants Trump to take legal action that will make it hard for Biden to undo the Deal of the Century and go back to the Iranian nuclear deal.

“They need this action from Trump before he leaves the White House,” he added.  “I think that the State of Israel wants the same thing.  Israel is looking at the Middle East through the same eyes as Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and the Saudi coalition.  We want the same policy to be continued related to Iran under Biden.  The peace process must also continue in accordance with the same policy as it is now.”

“If Biden will continue the process, it is not a problem for other countries to be part of the peace process,” he noted.  “There are seven or eight countries now willing to sign up if Biden continues the same process.  These countries will cooperate with Israel, Saudi and Egypt on the same process.”

In conclusion, Kara proclaimed: “Whether Trump wins in court or not, they want to block the way for any policy change related to Iran and the peace process.   Of course, there are in Marrakesh, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Libya, and other countries waiting for this policy.  They want to be partners with the new coalition of Saudi Arabia and Israel.  If nothing changes, they move forward as promised after the elections to a peace process.”
